Pipo is a fairly know Chinese brand popular for its affordable range of tablets; the company has announced a Dual Boot OS tablet – the Pipo W4S. The device is available in China and costs just €100 which is not far off to the Pipo W4 which costs €76.
The Dual Boot OS tablet is based on the Pipo W4 tablet (i.e they have virtually the same specs) which launched last year with Windows 8 with Bing but this time around comes with Dual OS – Android 4.4 Kitkat and Windows 8 OS.
Most of the specs remain the same; the Pipo W4S is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom SoC Z3735F with 2GB of RAM, 64GB space of internal storage and a 8-inch IPS display with 1280 X 800 pixels resolution (16:10 aspect ratio). The camera combination on the device is the 5MP/2MP rear and front cameras respectively.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11n, USB, HDMI and there is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion. As stated above the slate runs both OS – Android Kitkat and Windows 8 with ease and users can switch between both OS effectively with just one click. The tablet is backed by a 4500mAh battery which is expected to keep the lights on for some hours and is bundled with One year free subscription to Office 365.
For users content with Windows OS alone they can opt for the Pipo W4 (€74) while those who want the Dual OS (Android and Windows) would definitely enjoy the Pipo W4S.
