Launch Recap: Pixel Buds Pro with ANC, Volume EQ

Alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, Google announced the Pixel Buds Pro at the I/O 2022 event for developer earlier in the year. The earbuds delivers features such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Silent Seal to relieve the in-ear pressure and multiple listening modes which are not available on the Pixel Buds A-Series. It went on sale at the end of July for US$ 199 (AU$ 299) in Charcoal, Coral, Fog and Lemongrass colours.

The Pixel Buds Pro is compatible with all Pixel products and other Android phone. ANC is implemented using custom built 6-core audio chip with Google AI and fine-tuned speakers. The earbuds offers both Transparency and ANC modes complemented by Volume EQ, which adjusts the tempo of the audio output as the volume increases or decreases. Support for Spatial audio will arrive later in the year.

Other features include in-ear detection, USB-C & wireless charging, capacitive touch control, multipoint connectivity, and hands-free Google Assistant. The earbuds and case are also sweat and resistant (IPX4 and IPX2 respectively), and last up to 11 hours of listening time with ANC or up to 7 hours with ANC. The wireless charging case pushes the listening time up to 31 hours without ANC and that figure drops down to 20 hours with ANC.
