Pocketbook has quietly listed up the 6-inch Touch Lux 2 e-book reader successor online; the Pocketbook Touch Lux 3 as it is known is a slightly upgraded version of its predecessor. The reader is available for pre-order on online for a suggested retail price around €111 in Grey, White and Black options.
The Pocketbook Touch Lux 3 features a 6-inch Carta E-Ink capacitive touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels and a pixel density of 212ppi. Carta E-Ink display are praised for offering a paper-like display with a white and Black background with a perfect contrast balance making it easier to read on the display.
The Touch Lux 3 is powered by a 1GHz CPU paired with 256MB of RAM and 4GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot available onboard for storage expansion. It measures 114.6 x 174.4 x 8.3 mm, weighs 208 grams, micro USB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and is backed by a 1500mAh battery.
The reader which runs Linux OS supports the following file formats 18 formats for Documents and 4 formats for images including PDF, PDF (DRM), EPUB, EPUB(DRM), DJVU, FB2, FB2.ZIP, DOC, DOCX, RTF, PRC, TCR, TXT, CHM, HTM, HTML, MOBI, and ACSM.
