The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 was one of the best smartphones of 2015; the device received critical acclaim last year for its all-metal body build and fingerprint scanner. According to sources, Huawei is already working on the Ascend Mate 7 successor – the Huawei Mate 8.
Towards the end of last year, thanks to a leaked Huawei Roadmap we saw the company had plans to release the Huawei Mate 8 (Huawei Ascend Mate 8) at some point this year. With reports emanating from China, we have managed to derive some purported upcoming specs from the upcoming flagship.
The Huawei Mate 8 is expected to keep the same all-metal body build like it’s predecessor, it would keep its 6-inch display but the resolution has been bumped to (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD/2K display and the screen-to-body ratio is expected to be very impressive.
Under the hood it would be powered by the in-house made HiSilicon Kirin 930 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB space of internal storage and supports LTE Cat.6 connectivity. The main camera is expected to be upped to 20.7MP camera with Sony IMX220 sensor and the fingerprint technology is expected to still be present.
