Baring any last minutes surprises, the Huawei Mate 9 flagship is expected to launch anytime soon in Munich, Germany. The purported final specs and pricing information of the Mate 8 successor, as well some renders of the phablet device has surfaced online.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Emotion UI (EMUI), the Huawei Mate 9 sports a 5.9-inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass and uses the same Dual Rear camera setup with RAW support, manual control and Leica SUMMARIT lenses, similar to the camera centric Huawei P9 and P9 Plus.
It packs Dual 20MP rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses, Laser AF and Dual Tone LED flash, alongside a front facing 8MP camera. Under the hood,the device relies on an octa-core Kirin 960 processor paired along with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB built-in expandable storage space.
Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the Huawei Mate 9 flagship packs a fingerprint sensor, Hybrid Dual SIM slots (Nano + Nano/microSD) and 4G VoLTE support. It will come in Amber grey, Ceramic White, Champagne Gold, Glazing Black, Mocha Gold, Mystic Silver and Titanium Grey.
Pricing for the Mate 9 in Europe starts at EUR 599 for the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, EUR 699 for the 4GB/128GB option, and the 4GB/256GB combo for EUR 789. The Chinese market will get highest possible combination – 6GB RAM with 256GB storage for a reported price tag of CNY 4699 (EUR 628), and also the 4GB RAM with 128GB option.
