OnePlus is expected to released the OnePlus One successor this year; the successor is expected to be called the OnePlus 2. The device is expected to launch at a press conference in July and is expected to be the ‘flagship killer’ -the company’s policy of releasing a flagship devices for a more affordable price.
According to the report from China, some of the OnePlus 2 specs includes – an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and a display size with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The smartphone is also expected to be priced at CNY 1999 ($322) in China and the international version could sell for around $349 and €349 respectively.
There is no confirmation in the above reports but the CEO of OnePlus, Carl Pei already confirmed the OnePlus 2 would be powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. Also confirmed is the fact that the device would likely keep its 5.5-inch display, and the device would see a Q2 or Q3 launch date (so the July Date is feasible).
If all the above specs and the pricing turns out to be correct as the source tends to be then the HTC One M9 and the Sony Xperia Z3+ have some work cut out to do. All three smartphones have the same specs but the One M9 and Xperia Z3+ would be more expensive than the OnePlus 2.
The OnePlus 2 would be sold through the accustomed invite system and to avoid issues with more demands than supply, the company would ensure much units of the device are available at launch.
