Chinese company, QiKU, which is backed Qihoo 360, a well known Chinese tech giant, has announced new smartphones under it’s relatively new 360 brand name. The 360 Q5 and 360 Q5 Plus follow almost the same specs format as the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus, which are both marketed as business phones with built-in encrypted security chip for hardware protection.
The 360 Q5 Plus maintains a flagship status while the 360 Q5 retains a mid-range category. Both devices run Android OS (presumably Marshmallow) with the company’s 360 OS 2.0 ontop and sports the same camera setup – Dual 13MP cameras on the rear and a front facing 13MP camera.
The 360 Q5 (QiKU Q5) sports a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display and is backed by a 3200mAh high-density battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 64-bit processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB (eMMC 5.1) storage space.
The 360 Q5 Plus (QiKU Q5 Plus), on the other hand, sports a bigger 6-inch FHD display and is backed a 3700mAh Battery (non-removable) with Quick Charge 3.0. It is fuelled by a 64-bit Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15GHz paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.0) storage space.
The 360 Q5 Plus is priced at CNY 1999 ($300), while the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants of the 360 Q5 Plus costs CNY 2599 ($390) and CNY 2799 ($421), respectively. Both options are available in China only and registration is open for the first flash sale which sshould commence on August 30th.
