Qualcomm Technologies has announced its next-gen flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform at its second annual Snapdragon Technology Summit. The new chip has been confirmed to power a number of next year’s (2018) flagship from manufacturers like LG, Samsung and Xiaomi.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform is the direct successor to last year’s Snapdragon 835. It is manufactured by Samsung Electronics’ Foundry using the 10nm process technology and expected to include support for Gigabit LTE connectivity and slightly better processing power.
Other focus of the chip will be in the areas of security, battery life and Artificial Intelligence where the likes of Apple and Huawei have advanced to with their latest mobile processors. Qualcomm is expected to release the detailed specs and features sometime this week.
