Qualcomm Technologies has announced three new additions – the Snapdragon 632, Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 – to its Snapdragon 600 and 400 tiers of mobile platforms. All three platforms are engineered to deliver better battery life, impressive graphics, higher performance and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that enhance the camera, voice, and security experience.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform
The Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform, as expected, is more powerful than the Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 mobile platforms. It brings in-demand features such as 4K video capture, artificial intelligence (AI), fast LTE speeds and mainstream gaming, for a relatively affordable price.
It is built using the advanced 14nm FinFET process technology and offers 40% higher performance than its predecessor. The platform packs 8x Kryo 250 CPU cores clocked up to 1.8GHz, Snapdragon X9 LTE modem, Hexagon 546 DSP, Adreno 506 GPU and supports either up to 24MP single camera or up to 13MP dual rear cameras and up to FHD+ display resolution.
It also offers Dual SIM Dual VoLTE connectivity.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 and 429 Mobile Platform
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 and 429 Mobile Platforms are engineered to deliver popular mobile experiences to the budget smartphone market. Both platforms are built using the 12nm FinFET process technology and offer up to 25% improvements in CPU performance and power efficiency.
The Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform packs 8x Cortex A53 cores clocked up to 1.95GHz, Snapdragon X6 LTE modem, Adreno 505 GPU, Hexagon 536 DSP, and supports either up to 21MP single camera or up to 8MP dual rear cameras, up to FHD+ display resolution, Quick Charge 3.0 and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Snapdragon 429 Mobile Platform scales down to 4x Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.95GHz, Adreno 504 GPU and Snapdragon X6 LTE modem. It supports up to 16MP single camera, up to 8MP dual rear cameras, HD+ display resolution and Bluetooth 5.0.
Commercial devices with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, 439 and 429 Mobile Platforms will go on sale starting from this quarter (H2 2018).
