Qualcomm Technologies has expanded its Snapdragon 600 mid-range series with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform. The latest addition promises to deliver some high-end features such as better gaming and camera performance and improved AI functionality.
Built using the 11nm LPP process technology, the Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform is the first from the series to feature the next-gen Kryo 460 architecture, which is based on ARM’s Cortex-A76 cores. Huawei’s Kirin 980 is currently only the flagship SoC with Cortex-A76.
It features two 2.0GHz performance-focused cores along with six 1.75GHz power efficiency cores. It supports 3D face unlock and triple-camera configuration (front and rear) as well as telephoto, wide angle, and super-wide image capture; and enhanced portrait mode (Bokeh).
It is the follow-up to this year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 mobile platform and offers up to 50% overall improvements in AI application. It has been optimised for a number of games and game engines including Unity, Unreal, Messiah, and NeoX. There is also support for tools and APIs, including Vulkan, OpenGL 3.2, OpenCL, and Snapdragon profiler.
