Qualcomm Announce Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform

Qualcomm has taken the wraps off the Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform to power next-gen premium mobile devices at its ongoing 2020 Snapdragon Tech Summit Digital. The latest Snapdragon 8-series mobile platform by Qualcomm will be used by the popular devices made by some of the following OEMs including ASUS, Lenovo, LG, MEIZU, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform will incorporate the 3rd-gen Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF System to offer 5G carrier aggregation (5G CA), Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), mmWave and sub-6, SA and NSA, and global multi-SIM. It also features the 6th-gen Qualcomm AI Engine with a new Qualcomm Hexagon processor for powerful AI performance rated at up to 26 tera operations per second (TOPS) and 2nd-gen Qualcomm Sensing Hub for always-on AI processing. The rest includes 3rd-gen Snapdragon Elite Gaming, upgraded Qualcomm Adreno GPU performance, and Qualcomm Spectra ISP offers up to 35% faster speed than the previous generation ISP.

During the presentation, different industry leaders from Verizon, NTT DoCoMo, Xiaomi, Sony, Hugging Face, and OnePlus took to the stage to comment on their partnership with Qualcomm. Xiaomi also confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888.
