Realme has officially unveiled its ‘U Series’ line of camera-centric smartphones – the Realme U1 and its first wired headphones – the Realme Buds. The U1 is the world’s first phone powered by the Mediatek Helio P70 12nm chipset and runs ColorOS 5.2 (based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS).
The Realme U1 is equipped with 13MP (f/2.2) + 2MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras with AI Scene detection, portrait lighting and 90fps slo-mo video recording alongside a front facing 25MP (f/2.0) Sony IMX576 camera with AI related features such as AI Beautify and Facial Recognition.
It sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LTPS in-cell 19.5:9 display with up to 90.80% screen-to-body ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and dewdrop notch. It employs what it calls a Light Pillar Design i.e a shiny back with diffraction grading as phone uses 13 layers of Laminated Technology.
Power is supplied by a 3,500mAh battery with 5V/2A charger. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option costs INR 11,999 (USD 170) and the 4GB RAM + 64GB model costs INR 14,499 (USD 215). The Designer Phone cases and Realme Buds will cost an extra INR 499 (USD 7) each.
The Realme U1 will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India (Amazon.In) starting December 5 at 12:00PM in Ambitious Black, Brave Blue and Fiery Gold colours.
