Report: Google schedules 2015 Nexus event for September 29th

Google has reportedly scheduled the 2015 Nexus event for later this month – September 29th in San Francisco . Nexus devices which has been a yearly thing for the Search giant always usher in the company’s latest OS and this year the device(s) would run Android 6.0 Marshmallow

According to insider sources, Google would launch two nexus phones this year but no tablet. The company has teamed up with LG (for the third time) on a Nexus phone with a smartphone range display (5.2″ – 5.4″) and Huawei would handle the other Nexus device with a phablet sized display (5.5″ – 5.9″).

Nexus devices offers the purest form of Android experience – Stock Android which is rare commodity in most smartphones released of late. Most companies and carriers always have to fine tune every OS with their apps, user interface (UI) and the likes to meet their satisfaction.

LG is no stranger to Nexus devices the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 are proofs but this would be new waters for Huawei, which not only makes it the first Chinese OEM to build a nexus phone but also the company would be entering the US properly and will be hoping to hold down some market share as a result. 

Going by rumours, leaks and supposed benchmark results, the LG Nexus 5 (2015) – which the final name is unknown and the Huawei Nexus Phablet (final name unknown) would launch at the 2015 event and the company could throw in some added perks. 

Both devices would debut all the latest features of Android M (now Android 6.0 / Android Marshmallow / Android 6.0 Marshmallow) like Android Pay, fingerprint scanners, USB Type-C ports, Doze (battery saving mode) and more.
