With Android M confirmed to be running on the next set of Nexus Phones, Android Pay is expected to debut in the LG-made Nexus smartphone – the Nexus 5 2015 which is expected to launch by October. It is seen whether the Huawei-Made Nexus phablet would have the feature but both devices would have fingerprint scanners onboard.
LG and Huawei are unofficially confirmed to create the next gen Nexus smartphones – LG is creating a 5-inch Nexus Phone while Huawei would follow suit with a phablet sized 5.7-inch Nexus Phone.
Most Nexus devices, like most people know are owned by Google and are the first set of products to always get most new major OS releases. Android M should be no different.
The search giant is already tagged as already late to the simple payment scene, but the company is reportedly banking on LG to help it push Android Pay farther into dominant markets like Europe and North America where Samsung and Apple prevail over.
Google’s partnership with Huawei is said to be a long-term bid for the company to appeal to the largest mobile market in the world – China.
Another thing of note is that both LG and Huawei will be ahead of other OEM in releasing Android M updates for their smartphones due to their current status as Nexus phone makers.
Samsung is already ahead with Samsung Pay, as the payment solution doesn’t only support NFC but also Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) which makes it acceptable by most vendors around the world. With NFC-based Android Pay on the Nexus 5 2015, it is unlikely Google’s mobile payment system troubles Apple Pay for the number two spot.
