LG is planning to announce its next flagship the LG G4 at a standalone event in April. The company is skipping any major announcement at the MWC 2015 and instead opting for an April date which would see the LG G3 successor debut. LG is expected to only discuss the company’s updated strategies at a meeting with Korean reporters at the MWC 2015 event.

According to Korean Business times; from the marketing point of view it would be unreasonable to launch the G4 at the MWC 2015 which would see the Samsung Galaxy S6 announced, which would definitely take some limelight off the LG G4. The report further states that since Samsung launches its flagship by the first quarter and Apple launches the iPhone towards the second quarter of the year, LG is looking to make a bigger marketing splash for the G4 in between these periods.
LG released the LG G3 around May last year which means announcing the successor less than a year is illogical. But the target April time is when Sony would announce its Xperia Z4 flagship; which means LG might not really have April for themselves alone.
The company believes a standalone event for the LG G4 would see it do well and logically it is a good calculation from the company’s path. There is no specific date for the launch yet but when the dust of the MWC 2015 we would know better.
