Samsung is reportedly working on a new series of smartphones under the Samsung Galaxy O brand. The South Korean had been tipped to streamline and if possible reduce the number of phones churned out on an annual basis this year. However, reverse is the case as it is business as usual for the company.
According to reputable Samsung related news website – Sammobile, the company is working on two new smartphones with the codenames Samsung SM-G550 and Samsung SM-G600; both devices are expected to go official as the Samsung Galaxy O5 and the Samsung Galaxy O7 respectively.
Much is not know about both devices in terms of specs but judging from the recent Galaxy A Series and the Galaxy E series devices, the Galaxy O5 will likely have a 5-inch display and a slightly powerful processor while the Galaxy O7 will have a 5.5-inch display, a more powerful processor and a bigger battery.
At the moment, Samsung has the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note for the high-end/flagship devices, Galaxy A series for metal body build midrange and the Galaxy E and Galaxy J to address the midrange and entry-level segments. Where the Samsung Galaxy O Series would fit in remains to be seen.
