Revamped Apple iPod Touch with Apple A8 chipset and 8MP iSight Camera announced

Apple is ensuring the iPod doesn’t become a thing of the past as the company has announced a new Apple iPod Touch which would comes with the Apple A8 chipset and some minor improvements over the previous model.

The New Apple iPod Touch is now powered by a faster processor – the 64-bit Apple A8 processor which has the M8 motion co-processor for fitness tracking compared to the Apple A5 chipset on the previous model. 

It weighs 88 grams, measures 123.4 mm x 58.6 mm x 6.1 mm in dimensions and has a built-in battery which provides up to 40 hours of music playback time, 8 hours of video playback time and has fast charging feature – it charges up to 80% in 2 hours and charges fully in 4 hours. 

The main camera is now a 8MP iSight camera with f/2.4 aperture, LED flash and 1080p video recording which should take better photos and has burst mode. The front camera (FaceTime HD camera) is a 1.2MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 720p video recording. 

The device sports the same 4-inch diagonal widescreen Multi-Touch IPS display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. It comes with a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and currently runs iOS 8 but is upgradable to iOS 9 when it is generally available. 

Apple Music which just launched would be available on the device right in the Music app and the three months trial also applies. The 16GB New iPod Model costs $199, the 32GB costs $249, the 64Gb costs $299 and $399 for the 128GB model. It would be available in Blue, Gold, Pink, Silver and Space Gray colour options.
