Rugged Kyocera DuraScout E6782 Android Phone goes Official with Sapphire Glass Protection

Kyocera has announced a new rugged Android smartphone which would come with IPX5/IPX8 Water proof and IPX6 dust protection. The device in question is the Kyocera DuraScout E6782. The device is MIL-810G certified which means it can withstand adverse and harsh weather condition such as Salt Water, Moisture, Impact, Vibration, Temperature, Rain, and solar Radiation.

The Kyocera DuraScout E6782 doesn’t impress with its specs; it features 4.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LCD display with Sapphire Glass protection (Kyocera Sapphire Shield). Under the hood, we have a Quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor which clocks at 1.4GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard which extens storage with up to 32GB more space.  

Connectivity options on the device includes – LTE Cat. 4, dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), NFC and Bluetooth. A 8MP main camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera handles photography on the device. It runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is backed by a 3100mAh battery which offers 365 hours on standby time and up to 26 hours on talktime.  

The device measures 136.4 x 68.4 x 13.2 mm, weighs 187 grams. There is no word on how much the device would cost and where it would be available.
