There has been so many speculation about Blackberry’s roadmap for 2015 as the roadmap for 2014 has already been accomplished. The Blackberry Z3 went on sale earlier this year, Blackberry Passport, Blackberry Classic has gone on pre-order for $450 with the company reverting to the inclusion of the Trackpad, Call, End, Menu and Back buttons.
Well, rumourmill has it that the Canadian company is looking to release an all Touch high end smartphone for 2015. Though not much details has been revealed about the smartphone but it is said to be known internally as the “Rio” or codenamed the “Blackberry Rio”.
Judging by the failed launch of the Blackberry Z10, the company has been long rumoured to shift away from making any all touch smartphones. Though the Z10 didn’t do well, the company did well with the Blackberry Z30.
The project is said to be in its early stages which means there is still time for more tinkering. The Blackberry Rio is rumoured to be the long speculated Blackberry Z50 though it is said to be all speculation. Since Blackberry CEO, John Chen has reiterated multiple times that the company is not looking to bow out-of-the smartphone market and is looking to make more profit for the company in a year from now.
We hope Blackberry will attract more market appeal with its rumoured next all touch ‘Blackberry Rio’ smartphone.
I have the belief that Blackberry would actually survive under John Chen.
