In recent weeks much love has been show to the Blackberry Passport from critics and lovers alike. Blackberry also scored a better point when it introduced the Blackberry Blend along, which is currently available on all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows and Mac). Much is not being said about the Blackberry Classic which also got to share the stage with the passport; but asides from being displayed he Canadian company has refused to go into details on the upcoming device.
For old time Blackberry lovers I know, a much return of the ‘End, Call, Menu, Back as well as the middle placed TrackPad are returning with the Blackberry Classic (Blackberry Q20); which will see the device also succeed the Blackberry Q10.
The Blackberry Classic shares similar body build with the Blackberry Bold family but with more premium unibody and would be running on the newly released Blackberry OS 10.3. The Classic would be coming with physical keyboard – the company’s trademarked QWERTY.
Moving on to the specs, the Classic would have a 3.5-inch 720p HD capactive touchscreen and a pixel density of around 291ppi. The device is set to be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB. Other features expected are – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, Blackberry Hub, Blackberry Blend, and a 2525mAh battery.
Finally the Blackberry Classic is tipped to be the slimmest blackberry from the company, measuring 9mm in thickness (dimensions – 130. X 72 x 9mm). There is no word on front and rear camera; there are rumours of a 13MP autofocus rear camera with OIS.
The Blackberry Classic (Q20) according to the company’s roadmap iss also expected to debut before the end of the year – November or December 2014? – November to be precise. No word on the pricing details yet but expect the device to be cheaper than the new Apple iPhones.
