Samsung always pop up in the news now and then. This time around the South Korean company is reportedly working on its next flagship mobile processor – Exynos 8895. The in-house made SoC is expected to be used in the next Samsung Galaxy flagship – Galaxy S8 and will be built using the 10nm process.
According to reports, the CPUs in the Samsung Exynos 8895 processor will be able to achieve a clock speed up to 3GHz and would surpass the Exynos 8890 SoC used in some batches of the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7.
The Exynos 8895 is also expected to improve image processing by 60 – 70% which is very impressive considering the Galaxy S8 expected to be focused more on its camera performance (photography) and rival company Apple made similar improvements in the iPhone 7 and the A10 fusion processor.
Featuring a maximum power consumption of 5 Watts, another area the new processor will make improvements is in the aspect of the battery conservation. Alleged benchmark results also show a single core test score of 2301 and 7019 points in the multi core test category.
The Samsung Exynos 8895 is listed under the alias – kanchen on India’s Zauba listing and is expected to arrive next year. There is no official word on the existence of the new processor however the source of the leak is one of the reliable ones.
