Sony has changed its almost Six months cycle of announcing it’s flagship due to issues with sales. The Japanese company has so far only announced the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet this year but the company is expected to announce it’s Flagship Xperia Z4 smartphone at some point this year.
Another Sony smartphone has popped up in the rumour mill today; a 6-inch display smartphone which is expected to be the Xperia Z Ultra Successor – the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra. The display size has been reduced to 6-inch as against the 6.44-inch on the predecessor.
As expected, the Xperia Z4 Ultra would pack an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor just like the Xperia Z4. Since there is no official statement confirming this, there are no information on specification except the expected screen size.
According to the Industry Insider, The focus for Sony now is said to be mid-range to high-end smartphones and there are talks of lower shipment of entry-level smartphones expected from the company. The report also further states that Sony has projected it wants to ship a total of 38 million handsets for 2015 which could be said to be a pessimistic value considering the fact that it shipped 39.2 million handset in 2014.
Bummer. Gonna have to look at Huawei P8 if screen size is reduced from my Ultra
The Huawei P8 has a more reduced screen size. 5.2-inches
