Sony has announced its press conference details for the CES 2015 event and we should hopefully see the announcement of the Sony Xperia Z4. The CES 2015 is scheduled to take place between January 6th and January 9th next year and Sony is expected to make its announcement on January 5th.
Asides announcing the flagship Xperia Z4, the company is also expected to announce the Sony Xperia Z4 Line which would include – the Sony Xperia Z4 compact, the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra and the Sony Xperia Z4. According to a report which surfaced this weekend, we managed to lay hand to the supposed specs details of the Xperia Z4 compact and the Xperia Z4 Ultra.
The Sony Xperia Z4 compact would maintain the company’s tradition of making a compact variant of its flagship device. What we are looking at is a 4.7-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution display with a high pixel density. It would be powered by the Snapdragon 810 CPU with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. Other details includes – a front facing 5MP camera, a rear facing 20.7MP camera, stereo speakers, LTE Cat. 9, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, IP68 certification and wireless charging.
The Sony Xperia Z4 on the other hand would sport a 6.44-inch 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution display, powered by the Snapdragon 810 CPU with 3GB of RAM. It would come with a stylus support with 16MP camera on the rear, a battery capacity between 3500mAh and 45000mAh. The phablet was initially rumored to sport a 5.9-inch glass display and powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset.
Both the Sony Xperia Z4 compact and the Xperia Z4 Ultra is expected to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. Due to shortage issues with the Snapdragon 810 chipset both aforementioned device could be delayed till Q2 2015 with only the Sony Xperia Z4 and the Xperia Z4 tablet getting announced at the CES 2015 in January.
