Samsung and Blackberry Bring Mobile Security Options to Android

Samsung and Blackberry has announced a strategic partnership which is literally aimed at boosting mobile security on Android. The deal would see Blackberry bring its more secured platform to Samsung’s line of Android smartphones.

The deal means the BlackBerry’s BES12 cross-platform EMM solution and Samsung’s KNOX would merge into a single security suite for Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Samsung KNOX and BES12 will offer complete separation of business and personal data. The upcoming security suite will also provide enhancements that address some of the Android-specific security issues. The partnership between both companies is said would start yielding fruits by early 2015.

Samsung will resell BES12 to joint customers and BlackBerry will offer KNOX support as part of the Gold family of BES12 subscriptions. Pricing will be announced upon availability. Earlier this year, Apple and IBM announced a strategic partnership which would see IBM bring its enterprise solution to the iPhone and iPad devices
