With the world still basking on the euphoria of the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+; Samsung China quietly announced a flagship flip phone – the Samsung G9198 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.
The Samsung G9198 is also called 领世旗舰Ⅲ, while I don’t know what that means the device was recently tipped to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini. It is very likely to be a China exclusive device and is available in Black colour option only with no word on pricing.
Moving to the specs, the device sports a Dual 3.9-inch 768 x 1280 pixels (WXGA) Super AMOLED display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Under the hood, the Samsung G9198 is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage out of which only 10.96GB is available. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
The device uses the same camera combination as the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note5 and S6 Edge+; a 16MP camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash; the front camera is a 5MP snapper with f/1.9 aperture for selfies.
Connectivity options includes – NFC, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 4G LTE.
In dimensions, the Samsung G9198 领世旗舰Ⅲ measures 120.3 x 61.2 x 16.3mm, weighs 204 grams, runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2020mAh battery which guarantees a standby time of 189 hours.
