Samsung Electronics has announced its latest Galaxy A series smartphones – the Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy A22 (4G). Both devices have 90Hz refresh rate on their respective 6.6-inch FHD+ Infinity V (LCD) display and 6.4-inch HD+ Infinity U (Super AMOLED) display as well as side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, plastic back and 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 700 (MT6833) SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage while the 4G model depends on the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB (eMMC 5.1) storage. Either model comes pre-loaded with One UI 3.1 (based on Android 11) and arrives in Gray, Mint, Violet, and White colours.

Photography on the 5G model is handled by a triple-rear camera setup which includes a 48MP (f/1.8, LED flash) main camera paired with 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide, 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensors. Photography on the Samsung Galaxy A22 (4G) is handled by four cameras – a 48MP (f/1.8, OIS, LED flash) primary, 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide, 2MP depth and 2MP (f/2.4) macro.
Pricing starts at EUR 249 or GBP 199 for the base model of the Galaxy A22 5G and EUR 229 for the base model of the Galaxy A22. They are available on sale in Europe and UK starting from the month of June.
