With the official release of the Galaxy A (2016) devices over a year, Samsung will reportedly announce the Galaxy A5 (2017) and the rest of the Galaxy A (2017) in coming days. These devices are expected to arrive with upgrades over their predecessor and the now dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the operating system of choice.
According to the source, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A (2017) line-up will arrive in four different colour options (as seen in the render above). The Blue Coral and Pink Gold colour colours usually reserved for Samsung flagship series devices will join the regular Black and Gold.
Moving to the specifications, the Galaxy A5 (2017) styled as Galaxy A5(7), sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display and relies on a 3000mAh battery. An octa-core Exynos 7880 processor clocked at 1.9GHz is in charge of proceedings alongside 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
The device will have front and rear facing 16MP cameras, and will have 4G LTE, NFC and Samsung Pay support. China will be the first market to get the device and it will reportedly go on sale for a price tag of CNY 2699 (US$ 390). As at press time, there is neither any word on when the official launch will take place nor the global rollout schedule.
