Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones. The duo feature Samsung’s signature Infinity display (with 18.5:9 screen ratio) normally used on the Galaxy S flagships, powerful front and rear cameras, and arrives in Black, Blue, Gold and Lavender colour options.
The Samsung Galaxy A6 has a 5.6-inch (1480 x 720 pixels) HD+ Super AMOLED display, single rear 16MP AF (f/1.7) camera, front 16MP FF (f/1.9) camera with adjustable front LED flash and a 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).
While the slightly bigger Samsung Galaxy A6+ sports a 6.0-inch (2220 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ Super AMOLED display, 16MP AF (f/1.7) + 5MP FF (f/1.9) dual rear cameras, front facing 24MP F (f/1.9) camera with adjustable front LED flash and a 3,500mAh battery. It packs an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).
Both models have features such as Face Recognition, Fingerprint Scannning, Always on Display (Galaxy A6+ only), and App Pair for multitasking between two paired apps on the screen. The duo boot Android 8.0 Oreo OS and also supports Dolby Atmos sound, Samsung Pay, Bixby Vision, Home and Reminder.
The Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ will go on sale starting this month (May) in select Asian, European and Latin America markets, before rolling out globally to additional markets throughout South Korea, Africa and China.
