Last month, Samsung unveiled new Galaxy smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy A6s and Samsung Galaxy A9s with dual and quad rear cameras respectively in China. The duo are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform and run Android Oreo OS with Samsung’s UI on top.
The Galaxy A6s is Samsung’s first ever ODM phone. The production process is handled by Wingtech, the Chinese company long known to be in charge of manufacturing Xiaomi smartphones. It also has an IPS LCD display instead of Samsung’s trademark Super AMOLED.
The Samsung Galaxy A6s sports a 6-Inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB built-in storage space, 12MP + 2MP dual rear cameras, 12MP selfie camera, USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and 3,300mAh battery. Pricing starts at CNY 1,800 for the 64GB storage model and CNY 2,199 for the 128GB option.
The Samsung Galaxy A9s is the local version of the Galaxy A9 (2018). It has the same quad rear camera setup which includes – 24MP (f/1.7) main, 8MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide angle, 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto and 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensors. There is a single 24MP camera on the front.
The device has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, USB-C port, 6GB of RAM, 128GB built-in storage and a 3,800mAh battery. Pricing starts at CNY 3,500 for the only 6GB/128GB model.
