Samsung Galaxy A8, Galaxy S9 Enterprise Edition Announced

Earlier this month, Samsung announced the Enteprise Edition (EE) of the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy S9 for use in the corporate sector. Both smartphones are exclusively available to corporate customers in Germany and are designed to meet the intense demands organisations place on their business devices.

Based on the exisiting Galaxy A8 mid-range and the new Galaxy S9 flagship, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Enterprise Edition and Samsung Galaxy S9 Enterprise Edition will get three-year licenses for Knox Configure (Dynamic Edition) and the Enterprise Firmware Over-The-Air service (E-FOTA on MDM).

The Galaxy A8 EE has a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and will get monthly security updates for three years while the Galaxy S9 EE also has a two-year manufacturer’s warranty but will get security updates for four years (monthly for the first three years and quaterly for the fourth).

In terms of pricing, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Enterprise Edition is now on sale in Germany for EUR 499 (RRP). The higher-end Samsung Galaxy S9 Enterprise Edition will go on sale for EUR 849 (RRP) from April 2018.

Coomenting on the launch, Sascha Lekic, director of IM B2B at Samsung Electronics GmbH said;

“With the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy A8, we added two high-end business smartphones to the Enterprise Edition device portfolio, which are specifically tailored to business needs. This allows business customers to benefit from a comprehensive solution package that meets existing enterprise mobility requirements to a high degree. As a result, both companies and employees are optimally positioned for digital day-to-day work. “
