Samsung had already registered the Galaxy A6, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A9 trademarks; so it comes as no surprise as an upcoming smartphone from the company – the Samsung Galaxy A8 is said to be gearing up for release soon.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (SM-A800F) is said to be a phablet sized device and like all previous devices from the Galaxy A Series family – it would sport an all metal body. The device is also said to measure just 5.9mm thin which could see it upstage the Galaxy A7 (6.3mm) as the thinnest smartphone ever from the South Korean company.
According to Sammobile, the Samsung Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch (1920 X 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 64-bit enabled octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.0GHz) paired with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage.
To handle photography, the Galaxy A8 is said to feature a 16MP main camera and a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. The device is expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS (with probably the company’s latest TouchWiz UI ontop) and is backed by a 3050mAh battery.
The last of the dice says the device is targeted at the Chinese market; but all of these can only be confirmed when the device goes official.
I am so looking forward to this.
