As expected, the Samsung Galaxy A8s with triple rear cameras and Infinity-O display has gone official in China. It is the first smartphone in the world to feature a small O-notch (6.7mm in size) at the top left housing the front camera and the first ever to omit the 3.5mm audio jack.
The Samsung Galaxy A8s (SM-G8870) has a front facing 24MP (f/2.0) camera in the notch and a triple camera setup (arranged vertically like the Galaxy A7 (2018)) which includes 24MP (f/1.7), 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens and 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensors. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
It sports a 6.4-inch (2340 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ 19:5:9 Infinity-O display, 128GB built-in expandable storage (up to 512GB via microSD), rear fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, Dual 4G VoLTE, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and metal glass frame plus 3D curved glass back. It comes pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS and power is delivered by a 3,300mAh battery with support for fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A8s will be available on pre-order starting December 21. It arrives in Aurora Blue, Gradient Black and Elves Blue colours but no word yet on pricing.
