Samsung has an upcoming device in the pipeline, device which has been spotted on benchmark website – AnTuTu. This device has the model name – SM-A9000 which suggests we are looking at the Samsung Galaxy A9 in the Galaxy A series of devices which boast of the Galaxy Alpha, A3, A5, A7 and A8.
According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (SM-A9000) sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 (MSM8796) 64-bit processor with Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The listing unusually doesn’t confirm the number of pixels to expect from the camera. The device which should be a higher mid-ranger runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and could have a microSD card slot for storage expansion as well as support for LTE connectivity.
Last month, the Samsung Galaxy A9 was spotted on another benchmark listing – Geekbench. The listing confirmed the processor of the device and performance related scores; the device achieved a score of 1325 in the single-core test and 4461 in the multi-core test.
The funny thing is devices like the HTC One M9 and Oneplus 2, both powered by the smoking hot Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor have lesser scores on the listing with scores of 1112 and 876 in the Single-core test and 3738 and 3673 in the multi-core test.
Our fingers are crossed on this one.
