Weeks after the launch of the Galaxy Book Pro series with Intel Core processors, Samsung has taken another approach with new Windows 10 laptops powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Compute platforms. The new Samsung Galaxy Book Go is powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 compute platform with support for 4G LTE (optional) while the Galaxy Book Go 5G opts for the more powerful Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G Compute Platform.
The Galaxy Book Go series are fitted with 14-inch FHD TFT display with a slim bezel, 180-degrees folding hinge for use in multiple positions and the 42.3Wh battery comes with a 25W USB Type-C fast charger, while lasting up to 18 hours of usage time. The models are available in different memory (up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB (eUFS) storage) and connection (Wi-Fi, LTE & 5G) configurations.
Samsung has included apps and features such as Link to Windows and Microsoft Your Phone to perform Android related functions; and Second Screen to extend the PC screen to another device including all Galaxy tablets running One UI 3.1. There is also Easy Bluetooth Connection to easily and quickly pair with the Galaxy Buds; and both Quick Share and Smart Switch to exchange documents, files, and media. They can also control connected home items using SmartThings or track items via SmartThings Find.
The Samsung Galaxy Book Go is available from June 10 in the US and select markets for US$ 349 (base Wi-Fi version). The 5G model will arrive before the end of the year.
