Samsung has taken the wraps off its long rumored E Series range of mid-range smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy E5 and Samsung Galaxy E7. Both device would join the already announced Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 in launching in India. Both the Galaxy E5 and the Galaxy E7 are tipped as cheaper alternatives to the Galaxy A5 and the yet to be announced Galaxy A7; they both run Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with TouchWiz UI on-top but the company has assured the device is getting the Android Lollipop treatment in the nearest future.
Samsung Galaxy E5
The Samsung Galaxy E5 features a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 64GB) and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
Other features includes – a 5MP front camera, 8MP main camera with LED flash, Dual Hybrid SIM card slots (one of the slot can be used as a microSD card slot) and supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GLONASS, A-GPS and 3G HSPA+ connectivity option. It measures 141.6 x 70.2 x 7.3mm and packs a 2400mAh battery. It is available for Rs 19,300 (around $305) in India. Black, White and Brown colour options are available.
Samsung Galaxy E7
The Samsung Galaxy E7 has more beefier specs than the Galaxy E5. It somehow strays into the phablet zone with its 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 64GB) and supports the same connectivity option as the Galaxy E5.
Other features includes a 13MP main camera, a front facing 5MP camera and 2950mAh. It is available for Rs 23,000 (around $363) in India. Black, White and Blue Colour options are available.
Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 would sell in India for Rs 20,500 (around $323) and Rs 25,500 (around $401) respectively. Black, White and Gold colour options are available.
