Samsung has been busy updating the Galaxy A series of devices to 2016 models and the Galaxy J series is about to be shown the same love. The company is expected to start with the Galaxy J1. The upcoming device known simply as the Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 has surfaced in a leak.
According to sources, the Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 (SM-J120F) sports a 4.5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA display which is a bit bigger than the 4.3-inch display on the original model but the resolution stays the same . It is now powered by the yet-to-be announced Exynos 3475 quad-core processor with Mali-T720 GPU along with 1GB of RAM.
The rest of the Galaxy J1 2016 specs includes – 8GB built-in storage space, a micro SD card slot for extra storage space up to 128GB, Dual SIM slots, 3G/4G LTE support, front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies, a rear facing 5-megapixels camera with LED flash and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
For comparisons sake, the Original Samsung Galaxy J1, debuted back in February, is powered by a Dual-core Marvell processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Mali-T400 GPU, 512MB of RAM and 4GB built-in storage space. Samsung is expected to release the 2016 model of the Galaxy J1 by Q1 2016 so we would be looking forward to that.
