Pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and backed by a rather small 1500mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime takes a lot from the Galaxy J1 in terms of design and sports a 4-inch TFT display with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) screen resolution resulting in a pixel density of 233 ppi.

Elsewhere, it relies on a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with a meagre 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space which happens to be expandable up to 64GB / 128GB via a microSD. There is also a front facing VGA camera and a rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash.

The smartphone supports select 2G and 3G networks in the US and sold unlocked sans any carrier attachment. Interested US customers can pick up the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime in three colour options – Black, Gold or White.
