Along with the Galaxy J Max, Samsung also announced the Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 in India. The 5-inch sized device which is also styled as the Samsung Galaxy J26, has the Smart Glow feature – a glowing ring around the main camera, Turbo Speed Technology and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Smart Glow feature is a fully customisable LED notification light that works for priority notifications from any contact or app.
While up to four alerts can be set, consumers can create and choose their own color for the Smart Glow. It also alerts a user if they are running low on battery, internal memory, or mobile data. Users can also use the Smart Glow LED ring to position the rear camera for higher mega-pixel selfies with the Selfie Assist feature.
Backed by a 2600mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 sports a 5-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and is available in Black, Gold or Silver colour options.
The device packs 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 32GB built-in storage space and Dual SIM slots. It measures 142.4 X 71.1 X 8.0 mm in dimensions and comes with ‘Made for India’ features such as the S Bike mode, Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode and Turbo Speed Technology.
The Turbo Speed Technology (TST) promises superior device performance including native apps loading up to 40% faster than devices with double the RAM. The rest of the device specs includes 8MP AF camera with LED flash, front 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 is available for Rs. 9750 (US$ 145) and will go on sale across all channels (online and offline) starting July 14th.
