Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 Goes Official with UDS and S Bike Mode

‎Samsung has officially announced the 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone in India. Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 (or styled as the Samsung Galaxy J3(6)), the latest entrant in Galaxy J Series is available in Black, Gold and White colours for a price tag of Rs. 8990 (US$ 136).

It is already available exclusively through Snapdeal and there are a couple of perks involved. Vodafone 4G customers get to enjoy Double Data offer for 6 months while 3G customers get to enjoy the offer on Data packs of 1GB and above. ‎

The highlight of the ‎Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 is the S Bike Mode – a feature dedicated to help riders drive responsibly and avoid distractions. It has Urgent Call Alert – for playing a pre-recorded message to callers when riding  and Motion Lock – only allows the rider take calls after stopping the ride.

‎This feature can be activated either by gently tapping the NFC tag or pressing the S bike icon on the phone’s Quick Panel. The device ‎also have the UDS (Ultra Data Saving) mode, this saves 4G data usage up to 50%, compressing data and restricts background apps from consuming unnecessary data.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 ‎sports a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, measures 142.3 x 71x 7.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 138 grams‎ and is backed by a 2600mAh battery.‎It relies on a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with‎ Mali-400 GPU with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB built-in expandable storage space.

In the camera segment, there is a front 5MP snapper and a rear facing 8MP AF camera with LED flash, Quick Launch. For additional storage space, the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 has a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB. Connectivity options on the device includes 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and USB OTG.
