Samsung is all set to introduce a new-gen Galaxy J3 series smartphone in US. Starting January 6, the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge – a variant of the Galaxy J3 (2017) with the code name – SM-J327P, is expected to be available from Sprint as well as its two mobile prepaid arms – Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile.
According to VentureBeat (via @Evleaks), the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge keeps the same 5-inch display, 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, 294 ppi pixel density, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording, front 2MP selfie camera and 2600mAh Li-ion battery as the Galaxy J3 2016.
Considering that Galaxy J3 2016 (SM-J320P) had a quad-core Samsung Exynos SoC paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage; this new model opts for an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge boots the now dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and as expected, support Sprint’s 4G LTE network. It will be also available in Single or Dual SIM options. Considering the specs, the pricing has to be very right to gain more traction. No word on pricing yet.
