Samsung has quietly unveiled its second Galaxy J series Android Go smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core. It is the follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core released some months ago but comes with the same Android 8.1 Oreo version of Android Go not Android 9 Pie.
The Samsung Galaxy J4 Core sports a large 6-inch (1480 x 720 pixels) HD+ TFT display, 16GB built-in expandable storage and a 3,300mAh battery. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz (likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425) and packs the same 1GB of RAM.
It has the same rear 8MP f/2.2 camera and front facing 5MP f/2.2 camera as the Galaxy J2 Core. It has the usual connectivity and port options expected from an entry-level such as Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 and location (GPS, GLONASS and Beidou).
The Samsung Galaxy J4 Core measures 160.6 x 76.1 x 7.9 mm and weighs 177 grams. There is no official word yet on pricing but it will arrive in Black, Blue and Gold colour options.
