Samsung has finally announced the 2016 models of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones. Both the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 (SM-J5108) and Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J7108) have been previously subjected to leaks and their existence confirmed by benchmark listings before being listed on the company’s China website.
Measuring 145.8 x 72.3 x 8.1 mm in dimensions and weighing in at 159 grams; the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 sports a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.
The Galaxy J5 2016 packs a front facing 5-megapixel camera, rear facing 13-megapixel and 3100mAh battery. Others includes NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0, GPS, LTE connectivity and support for Samsung Pay.
Rocking the same metal body, the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD Super AMOLED display and packs a 3300mAh battery. It measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.8mm in dimensions, weighs in at 170 grams and also supports LTE, VoLTE and NFC connectivity.
The device relies on an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 3GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space. In the camera segment, the Galaxy J7 2016 sports a front facing 5-megapixel camera and a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture.
Also, you should know both the Galaxy J5 2016 and J7 2016 have Dual SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
