Officially, Samsung has announced the refurbished version of last year’s troubled Galaxy Note 7 as the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition (Galaxy Note FE) in South Korea. The high-end phablet will go on sale this Friday (July 7) for KRW 699,600 (US$ 608 or €UR 535) and will be available in Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colours.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has the same features and appearance as the Galaxy Note 7. While the capacity of the battery has been reduced from 3,500mAh to 3,200mAh, it is further enhanced with multiple battery safety tests and has undergone rigorous battery test.
Also, the UX has been upgraded to that on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and Bixby (Home and Reminder) has been thrown into the mix. Other features of the Galaxy Note FE touted include Always On Display, Samsung Pass (Fingerprint and Iris biometric authentication), IP68 certification (waterproof and dustproof), and either the S Pen or S Pen Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has the fan edition logo etched on its back and only 400,000 units will be released yet while the company mull over plans to launch it outside the home market.
