Earlier today, Samsung announced officially announced the Galaxy Note 4 successor – the Samsung Galaxy Note5. The phablet comes with a Stylus Pen (S Pen) which is a norm for the Note series device but gone are the days of faux leather backs, no microSD card slot and the battery is non-removable.
Very little details makes the Samsung Galaxy Note5 better than the Galaxy Note 4 but trust me those little details go a long way. Starting with the display, both device have the same 5.7-inch QHD display, 16MP camera with OIS, with little separating them here.
Design-wise the Galaxy Note5 comes with a more premium metal and glass body build, is much more compact and has shed off a little weight compared to the plastic body build of its predecessor which is heavier and more robust.
The Note5 has a bigger RAM (4GB LPDDR4), it’s storage are the faster UFS 2.0 type, Ultra High Quality (UHQ) audio streaming over bluetooth, much more faster processor built using a 14nm process, improved camera and video quality, and with LTE Cat.9 connectivity, it offers up to 600Mbps download speed.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might have a bigger 3220mAh battery but it lacks the latest fast charging and embedded wireless charging the 3000mAh of the Galaxy Note 5 has. It also has a microSD card slot but the memory is the slower eMMC 5.0 type and the RAM is lesser at 3GB LPDDR3.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Note5 is a worthy upgrade over the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but we will let you be the judge. Looking at the infographic below, does the Galaxy Note5 pick your taste or you remain content with the Galaxy Note 4.
