One of the upcoming smartphone from Samsung’s Galaxy O series – the Samsung Galaxy O5 (SM-G550) has been spotted on GFXBench listing. The entry-level device is expected to be accompanied by the Samsung Galaxy O7 (SM-G600) which is a phablet variant with some improvements.
According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy O5 sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and is powered by a quad-core Samsung Exynos 3475 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with ARM Mali-T720 and 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB space of internal storage out of which only 4.5GB is user available.
Talking about the cameras, there is a 8MP main camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. The device makes do without NFC but should have a microSD card for storage expansion, support 4G LTE connectivity and is confirmed to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS from the onset.
Also talking about the Samsung Galaxy O7, it sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM. The rest of the specs includes – 8GB internal storage space, 13MP main camera, 5MP front camera and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
Both the Samsung Galaxy O5 and Galaxy O7 are reportedly VR-focused smartphones and the South Korean company partnered with Occulus to deliver the devices. There are also possibilities that the devices will be accompanied with a standalone VR headset from both companies.
There is no official confirmation yet on anything but Occulus has an event scheduled for this week (Connect2 Event) starting tomorrow, September 23rd. We will bring more updates if anything goes official.
