With the Android 4.4 Kitkat update not reaching the Samsung Galaxy S III due to its 1GB RAM, the Korean company has released a 3G-only variant of the Galaxy S III dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S III Neo (model number GT-I9301I). It is available in White and Blue colour options for €270 (around N60,000 in Naira).
Moving to the specs, the Samsung Galaxy S III Neo features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space.
The device has 8MP main camera on the back with LED flash and a 1.9MP camera for video chats. For additional. Storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB and connectivity options on the device includes – NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS with AGPS/GLONASS, microUSB 2.0 and 3G HSPA.
The Samsung Galaxy S III Neo has Dual Micro SIM slots, measures 136.6 x 70.8 x 8.6 mm in dimensions, weighs 132 grams and runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with TouchWiz UI ontop. It is backed by a 2100mAh Li-ion battery expected to provide up to 57 hours of music playback time. It also features Samsung’s KNOX security.
