Samsung’s Galaxy S10 E Will Not Feature An In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Samsung will reportedly launch three models of its upcoming Galaxy S10 flagship. All three variants are expected to feature the company’s new Infinity-O style display with the in-screen O notch on the right-hand side housing either a single or dual selfie camera.

According to new information from a supplier in China, the base model is now expected to go official as the Samsung Galaxy S10 E. The source also mentioned that this model will have a flat 5.8-inch Infinity-O display and will not feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy S10 E will be priced lower and feature a different camera setup when compared to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. The latter two are expected to have respective 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch curved Infinity-O displays and ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Due to the nature of the display, there is no room for an Iris Scanner on all the models. Samsung is rumoured to unveil the series at the forthcoming MWC 2019 or at a standalone event earlier in February. There is no official confirmation from Samsung on the launch and the full specs of the upcoming Galaxy S10 series smartphones.
