Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new Galaxy S20 series of smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20+ and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra alongside a new foldable smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and AKG-tuned Galaxy Buds+. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Series and Galaxy Buds+ will be available globally from March 6 while the Galaxy Z Flip will be available from February 14 in Korea and the U.S.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Series
The new Galaxy S20 series are available in 6.2-inch (S20), 6.7-inch (S20+) and 6.9-inch (S20 Ultra) Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O displays with 120Hz display support and HDR10+ support. The S20 and S20+ have 10MP (Dual Pixel AF, f/2.2, 80˚ FOV) selfie cameras while the S20 Ultra has a 40MP (PDAF, f/2.2, 80˚ FOV) sensor.
The S20 Ultra’s quad-camera system includes a 12MP (f/2.2, 120˚ FOV) ultra-wide, 108MP (f/1.8, 79˚ FOV, PDAF, OIS) wide-angle and 48MP (f/3.5, 24˚ FOV, PDAF, OIS) telephoto sensors. The last is a DepthVision camera. It offers 8K video shooting and AI-powered Super Resolution Zoom up to 100X.
The Galaxy S20+ has the same quad-camera system as the S20 Ultra, however, the wide-angle and telephoto sensors are now – 12MP (f/1.8,79˚ FOV, Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, OIS) and 64MP (f/2.0, PDAF, 76˚ FOV, OIS) respectively. The Galaxy S20 has a triple camera system (similar to the S20+), however, it lacks the DepthVision camera. Both offer up to 30X zoom using the Space Zoom technology (Hybrid Optic Zoom + Super Resolution Zoom).
The Galaxy S20 Series offer up to 5,000mAh battery with wired and wireless fast charging, up to 16GB RAM + 512GB built-in storage, Stereo speakers and Earphones sound by AKG, USB type-C, LTE/5G (SA/NSA) connectivity and Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor.
Samsung Galaxy Buds+
The Galaxy Buds+ has two-way speakers (tweeter and woofer), three microphones for sound and voice quality, and up to 22 hours of music playback time (11 hours from the Buds+ and the other 11 from the case). It offers superior sound quality tuned by AKG and enhanced Bluetooth connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
The foldable Galaxy Z Flip features main 6.7-inch FHD+ Infinity Flex Display with 21.9:9 aspect ratio and uses both Samsung’s proprietary bendable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) solution – a first-of-its-kind foldable glass. The phone uses an innovative Hideaway Hinge system to unfold at multiple angles and fold into a compact and stylish form factor with a 1.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display.
The phone’s rear camera has a dual system a 12MP (123˚ FOV, 1.12μm pixel, f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor and 12MP (78˚ FOV, 1.4μm pixel, f/1.8, OIS, Super Speed Dual Pixel AF) wide-angle sensor. The front snapper has a 10MP (f/2.4, 1.22μm pixel, 80˚ FOV) sensor. The camera offers up to 8x digital zoom, Tracking AF and HDR10+ recording as well as 4K video capture, Live Focus and Super Steady recording.
The Flex Mode, created in partnership with Google, allows the user use two 4-inch screen to view and control images, contents and videos on either screen. The rest of the specs include a side capacitive fingerprint sensor, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 3,300mAh dual battery (both wired and wireless fast charging) and Wireless PowerShare.
