Samsung launched is Galaxy flagship devices – Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge this year ditching plastic body for metal body frame and Glass back but both smartphones are not waterproof.
However, the Korean company is sure to be following the same trend of releasing various variant of its flagship smartphone and we would be seeing an active version of Galaxy S6. Most of us can remember the Galaxy Active smartphones from Samsung; the device’s come with extra rugged design, shockproof and Military grade certified to survive harsh weather conditions.
According to popular leakster, @upleaks, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is currently in the works and it carries the codename – SM-G890A. The device would be carried by AT&T in the US. Asides that there isn’t any information on technical specs or other information.

In another report, The Samsung SM-G890A has also surfaced via a UAProfile on the ; and looks likely to succeed the Samsung SM-G870A (Samsung Galaxy S5 Active) which was released in May on AT&T in the US. The User profile points to a Quad-HD Screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution display.
Based the last year’s Galaxy S5 Active; the Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G890A would have similar specs with the original Galaxy S6 with the addition of Activity Zone, Dust and Waterproof and MIL-STD-810G certification for ability to withstand harsh weather conditions.
