Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S7 at the MWC 2016. The successor to the Galaxy S6 returns all the specs omitted from the previous edition like the microSD card slot and water & dust resistant body (IP68 rating) but the device still use the tradition USB 2.0 port.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with TouchWiz UI ontop, the Samsung Galaxy S7 sports an all-round curvier body with 2.5D effect, 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED display and a pixel density of 577ppi. It measures 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9mm in dimensions and weighs 152 grams.
Under the hood, it is powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor along with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 200GB.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy S7 uses the company’s new 12MP camera on the rear with Dual Pixels, f/1.7 lens and OIS; and the front camera is a 5MP snapper with f/1.7 wide-aperture lens. Connectivity options includes – 4G LTE Cat.9, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual Band Wi-Fi ac, MIMO, ANT+, NFC & MST.
Samsung really listened to to the fans this time around, the capacity of the battery on the Galaxy S7 is 3000mAh and this supports both Wired and Wireless charging (PMA & WPC standards). The device is also Water and Dust resistant (IP68).
